What is a Well Family Midwife Clinic?
The Well-Family Midwife Clinic (WFMC) is a specially designed outlet for the efficient and effective provision of family planning and maternal and child health care services. It provides the means for couples to space and limit the number of children to their desired family size. It has a birthing facility to attend to normal maternal deliveries. It also helps women reduce health risks to themselves and to their children. It is also an ambulatory facility that provides an entry point for patients waiting for health care services and proper referrals.

What is WPFI?
The Well-Family Midwife Clinic Partnerships Foundation, Inc. (WFPI) is a foundation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on June 18, 2002, and is composed of WFMC midwives and their partner NGOs.

WPFI is envisioned to be a leading and sustainable national organization nurturing a network of excellent community-based clinics and health service providers, the WFMCs. Its main mission is to oversee the management of the WFMC franchise in the years to come.

What services are offered by WFMCs?
WFMC provides family planning, maternal and child health services such as: counseling, pregnancy tests, minor gynecological services such as pap smear, basic health services within the competence of a midwife like normal spontaneous delivery, pre- and post-natal care and immunization, and more.

What is the WFMC franchise program?
The WFMC Franchise Program aims to provide entrepreneurial opportunities to midwives who have established linkages with their respective communities, as well as to provide quality and affordable (FP/MCH) services to lower and middle–income families.

How can I acquire a WFMC franchise?
Franchising is only available to licensed midwives, invited NGOs, and Cooperatives. Procedures for acquiring a franchise can be found under our
    Franchising section.

How much is the total investment? Is there a franchise fee?
The average investment is estimated to be at least P500,000.The equity put in by a WFMC franchisee is equivalent to the cost for construction or renovation of the clinic to be opened, pre-operating and on-the-job training activities, clinic equipment and instruments, the WFMC signage and the initial marketing and promotional materials. JSI-RTI and WPFI (through its accredited local service providers) provide the technical assitance for clinical, business and marketing needs of the WFMCs. On top of this, there is a Franchise Fee to give the franchisee the right to use the WFMC brand name, the WFMC Operating Manuals, Quality Assurance visits, and access to specialized training and business coaching services.

Aside from the franchise fee, do I need to pay anything else to WFPI?
The WFMC will have to pay to WPFI a monthly Royalty Fee equivalent to P200 per normal maternal delivery. However, if in a given month the clinic has less than two (2) normal maternal deliveries, the WFMC will have to pay a minimum Royalty Fee of P500 for that month.

What are the other costs to be incurred?
Other costs will be the monthly operating costs of operating the clinic, like: clinic space rental, electricity, water, wages of clinic assistant, office supplies, clinic supplies, family planning commodities, etc.
